Who Says Mike D'Antoni Doesn't Teach Defense?!?

(via Daily News)

Bill Walker, King of the Beach/Bench. Walker may or may not have called glass but that's how you end a half. So what a way to finish a weekend that opened with the Knicks playing down to the level of the league's worst with a loss to the Cavs and closing it out with a win against one of the league's premiere teams. And I know everyone is saying that the Amar'e's block on Lebron with seconds left could be "the play" for this team but let's not carried away with ourselves just yet - there's a lot of basketball left in this team and I have a feeling a lot more defining plays left in them.

Doc, Straw, and Iron Mike?

Not gonna lie, but if I cared about baseball when I was 3, I would have been a Met fan.

Rare Sunday Post - Knicks/Heat Tonight!!!

(via NY Daily News)

Wish Landry Fields somehow made the cover but still if D'Antoni somehow winds up hanging off Chris Bosh's leg tonight, we can say that the Knicks/Heat rivalry is officially "officially back."

Why Reverse Perfection
: I've had the "Reverse Boston Creme" a couple of weeks ago, it's one of the greatest concepts in doughnut history - chocolate cake, chocolate filing, Boston creme topping but in terms of execution, it's just kind of sort of alright . (via Midtown Lunch)

Free Darko on 'Melo
: We've heard from just about everyone on the whole "Carmelo Anthony, New York Knick" business except Bethlehem Shoals of Free Darko until now. (via NY Mag)

Hey Look James Franco's Back on General Hospital

Goodbye Two and Half Men, Hello Major League 3

"Newsflash: I am special, and I will never be one of you! I have a disease? Bullshit! I cured it with my brain, with my mind. I cured it, I'm done … you don't look like you're having a lot of fun. I'm gonna hang out with these two smoking hotties and fly privately around the world. It might be lonely up here but I sure like the view, Alex"
- Charlie Sheen (via Vulture)

Oh Wild Thing, even in Spanish or in a nervous breakdown of a radio interview, you make my heart sing.

Muppet Yourself Clean

(via P4K)

Okay, I may have overslept and missed out on tickets for LCD Soundsystem's goodbye run at Terminal 5 the other day when I was sick but I'll always have this unofficial Muppet filled video for "Dance Yourself Clean" off of last year's This Is Happening.

Yeah Carmelo- Maino by Executive Nick

Kobe said it best, "Carmelo Anthony is a bad boy." Regardless of what the Knicks gave up, shit just got real in the Garden with STAT and Melo being the cornerstones of the Knicks' starting line up going forward. So yeah, YEAH CARMELO. Also thank god, the Knicks held onto Landry Fields, I can sort of deal with the others doing their thing somewhere else but if Landry was doing all his "Landriness" somewhere else, I would have been gutted. And finally, the unheralded headline in all of this - BALKMAN IS BACKMAN.

I WANT THIS: Pug and Pug Slippers

(via TDW)

Goodnight Sweet Princes Gallo, Wil, Ray Ray, and Timofey Mozgov

The Melo-drama is finally over but before we get to the "hooray Carmelo is a Knick" stuff, let's get all wistful about the guys the Knicks gave up in the deal. Danillo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, and for 3 weeks, Timofey Mozgov were apart of a team that "brought the Knicks back" and while back was 2 games over .500 over the break - it was still better than the last decade. Granted, those guys plus Melo signing in the off season was ideal but the NBA isn't ideal - I'll miss Gallo's flaying drives, the Wu-Tang like swagger of the December version of Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler throwing it down and still having a flat affect, and we'll always have that game against Detroit, Moz.

New Lykke Li, which in fact I like a lot
: Hear the Swede's latest, Love out of Lust off the forthcoming record, Wounded Rhymes.(via Gorilla vs. Bear)

At least he out assistant coached Jimmy Kimmel: Even though he didn't really coach the East in the Celeb All Star game, Bill Simmons has some sort of sports/pop culture mega site coming to ESPN sooner or later, and it's going to take over the world. Or the internet. Or your RSS feed. Exciting stuff. (via Quickish)

: Anytime there's a retrospective about MTV's The State, it's getting reblogged. (via SplitSider)

: Would have I signed up for 2 games over .500 at the break? Yes. Would I trade Gallo/Felton/Chandler/Curry's Contract/First Rounder acquired for Anthony Randolph for Melo/Billups/Whomever? Let's see - Ray Felton has excedded expectations but he was viewed as a stop gap between now till 2012 when all those Point Guards in his draft class are available, the Knicks aren't going to match whoever decides to overpay Chandler in the offseason, and Danilo Galinari may be our home grown guy but he's not Carmelo Anthony and never will be. Let's get this deal done, guys. But hey, it's highlights. (via ESPN)

I Can't Choose Just One NBC Thursday Night GIF, I Won't Choose Just One NBC Thursday Night Gif

Seriously, NBC should bring back that "Must See TV" slogan for Thursday nights. But just for Community and Parks and Rec.

New Radiohead? A Day Earlier? President's Day Weekend Miracle!

The new Radiohead a day earlier? Love you Thom Yorke. Going out on a limb here, but if this album will probably be as good as Yorke's dance moves in the video for Lotus Flower. So OAB official prediction - the King of Limbs will be very good.

Mid 90s' NBA Fine Art/Space Jam Related Rant

(via Oakley and Allen)

Those aliens in Space Jam should have picked The Dream and some real guards over scrubby ass Shawn Bradley and LJ and Muggsy Bouges who were probably chosen based on the popularity of the Hornets' Starter jackets in the mid 90s. There's no way Jordan, Bill Murray, and some cartoons could have beaten Hakeem, Ewing, Chuck, and say GP and Reggie Miller.
